TEAM PROFILE

Co FOUNDER, INVESTIGATOR, RESEACHER AND HISTORIAN.

OCCUPATION: Care Assitant

Hi, my name is Gill Stubbs. I am the Co founder of Spectre Analysis with Kath.
I have been interested in the paranormal since childhood. My Nan told me a ghost story which was connected to a local legend and that she had actually seen this ghost. It was this story that sparked my interest in the paranormal. It was not only the story, but the fact that I could go and look up the information and find out the facts behind the legend.

My role in the group
I am the Research Historian of the team and I believe that in order to conduct a proper investigation at a location, you need to find as much information as possible. I love going out to libraries, books shops, and searching the internet to find out as much information about the locations we are investigating, tracing past owners of a property, what the property had been used for and what other things could have been on that site. It’s just amazing what can turn up out of the blue.

I also find new locations and the stories and legends behind them. Our team visit some fantastic locations and the history behind these is just incredibly fascinating.

My aims and goals.
I want to find out 100% proof that ghosts, spirits or whatever you want to call them are real.

I would like to think that there is something else, somewhere where our spirit goes. It is a lovely thought that you could meet up again with loved ones or other people from the past.

Since such programmes as Most Haunted, Haunted Homes and Dead Famous, ghost hunting as never been so popular but this can have a down side as so many places charge ridiculous prices to attend such and event. I would like to see this stopped and more of a serious side given to this.

Morecambe Winter Gardens

SA joined an arranged paranormal night at The Winter Gardens in Morcambe. This was a fantastic opporitunty to investigate such a wonderful building. This area was originally the town’s baths and was surrounded by gardens, This is where the name comes from. It has undergone many chances in its long history and many famous and wonderful acts have appeared here. As you stand outside this building, it is easy to imagine all the people who have come and gone in the past. The exticment of seeing a show or the worry of an actor as they appeard here for the first time It is such a shame to see the building in such a bad way. Thank goodness things are changing and hopefully in two years time, this place will be back to its former glory and back to life.

From a glitter ball in the dance room to marble staircase in the lobby, this place filled me with great excitement for the evening ahead. It was the setting of a ghost story many of us hear about and all that went through my mind was “WILL ONE OF THE SEATS BE DOWN?"

The weather was cold, wet and windy. You could hear the rain and wind in the building, so we had to be careful when you heard a noice. It was easy to hear the creaking of the floorboards and think someone was walking behind you. The evening started approx 9pm with a full walk round of the building and the investigation started at 10.30pm.
It was a quiet start with a couple of people seeing figures and hearing sounds. I was feeling nothing and of course could see nothing.

As we climbed the stairs and entered The Gods, someone noticed one of the chairs was down. Before I could get in they had put the chair back up and said that all chairs were correct when they had left earlier. This seat was in row E, nos 44. I cant tell if it was paranormal or not because I did not witness it, but I had hoped they had left it down for us all to see. I did have a good luck round the rest of the room and could not see anymore chairs down but 30mins later, we did notice another chair had come down on the other side of the room. This was in row E (again) nos 10. I can tell you that this seat had been up just a few mins earlier as I had been sitting nearby. I had not heard anything and no one had walked past me. Was this paranormal? The seats were quiet heavy and I don’t think they could have come down by accident. Interesting indeed!

About 2.40am, as we left the gods and headed back to the circle down a steep staircase, the SA group (last as usual) heard what sounded like 3 loud bangs as though keys had been dropped down the stairs. We tried to recreate these sounds but could not.
Throughout the evening, out medium had told us about people who were watching us and about a dark entity in the cellar. This of course builds up the tension during the evening and by the time we went into the cellar, I am sure most of the people were already scared. I don’t like this way of feeding sugestions to people, things can get out of control very easily.

By 3.30am, we were in the cellar and of course the story of this dark, evil entity was told. How it was brought through by a vortex (which is still there) and it was created by emotion. Most of the group formed a circle(which was the safest place to be), so I stood outside the circle watching (what abrev girl I was). Many in the circle saw a blue mist forming in front of them and could feel something walking around them. The medium was taken over for a short time and then Jackie (SAmember) appeared to shake and cry. This was not like her and a (full report of her feeling are on her blog page).

I believe the events had played a part in Jackie and it may have been to much for her. But what I do know is, she does not make things up and I can't explain what happened to her. Of course the medium said a lost soul had entered her to escape this entity but I don’t believe that. Jackie left the room and the circle was closed, so I thought that if this entity liked picking on people, then it can have a go at me. Apparently we were told that the entity had gone back into a tunnel leading off the cellar, so I went into here to follow it. If it was such a dark, evil thing, one person would be easy pray for it. But of course nothing happened. I just got cold and wet as the floor was flooded. So much for easy prey.

This was a very interesting night but apart from one seat down and the loud bangs on the staircase. I can't comment on anything else that happened as I can't prove it.
I enjoyed the building and you could let your imagination run away with you here but at the end of the day, not a lot happened to me to make me think that it was all paranormal. Great building and I will go back when the work is complete.
